Get in touch with nature

Last week, we both had good friday off and the weather was beautiful so we got an annual pass to our local metropark. We packed up a lunch and headed off to their 7 miles of waliking trails. It was so nice to finaly get back outside and having the sun shinning! Overall we spent 3 hours at the park walking and talking, it was blissfully simple and I got my first sunburn and mosquito bit of the spring/summer.

Dinner & a movie...off budget

I can't believe it has been 6 months since we got married! We decided to somewhat forget about the budget and have a good night. After we got out of work we picked up our movie tickets and headed to dinner at RoJo, a great mexican place that we love!

As for the movie, we saw The Bounty  Hunter. I couldn't wait to see this movie...come on Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston!!! Even with so much potential it was BAD in so many ways. All of the good parts were in the comercals.

oh well, it was a nice night out with my husband and we made the best of it!!!

Unplanned Date Nights

It always seems that life gets hectic when the weather is nice. Everyone planning things outside and people want to do things they didn't get a change to do last spring/summer. With all of the craziness of birthdays, golfing and now Charlie is joining a softball league. It has been super hard over the last two weeks to plan a date night due to our schedules and when we do have an unplanned night we want to just relax. So over the last two weeks we didn't plan anything we just went for walks at night when the weather was nice and we did some baking together for St. Patties Day.

It was blissfully simple and we got some quality face time in!

Busy Week = Date Night at Meijer

The past two weeks have been kinda crazy due in part to me getting a new job and trying to get some things one that have been on our to-do list for awhile. We had to get some stuff from the store for lunches and what not so we took our time and used that oppertunity to enjoy doing simple things together.

We used this time to catch up while getting things done. I love being able to turn simple things into more meaningful time spent together.

This coming up week is another busy one but my goal is to PLAN a date this time. any ideas????

Double Date

We are lucky enough to have amazing friends that are also married or have been dating for a long time. A group date is a good way to catch up with friends and we love hanging out with them.

We recently went over to our friends house and played cards for hours. it was a great night with great friends and its nice to stay in yet be with different people.

Just make sure who ever you choose to do a double date or group date with people that you AND your husband get a long with.

Memory Lane Date

Every couple has gone on a journey to get to where you are today. Every journey is different and special in its own way. Along that journey great memories have been made. I love remembering great moments in my life wheather its looking through photos or going back to where the memory was made. Its a great reminder of how far I have come as a person and how far we have come as a couple.

Our "first date" (we were not dating at this point but it was the first time we were together outside of high school) was going to Cedar Point with Josh & Heidi. The memory that stands out most from that day was when we got on the power tower and I thought we were in line for the side that goes up and it was the one that went down. I don't like heights and i didn't like sitting at the top waiting to fall...Charlie thought it was funny but he held my hand while we waited to drop. It was a small gesture that made me feel so much better and has always stood out in my memory. We have only been back there once since then but I am determind to go back again this year.

The main issue with this date idea is the cost and travel. Cedar Point isn't too far but its better as a weekend trip. In order to make this possible I want to challege myself to have more free date nights so that we can splurge on this one.

Where/what was your most memerable date?? Do you plan on going back there??

$5 Movie Night

Our local movie theater has a special on Tuesdays....most movies are just $5 a person! We didn't really have a date planned this week and we both go out of work early so we decided to go. We say Valentines Day, it was cute and had a lot of big names in it. The movie was a great choice for a date but we ended up in the movie with a crying toddler and teenagers behind us. I really hate when that happeneds but that is life.

After the movie we went over to Wal-mart to get something for a baby shower at my husbands work. The highlight of the night was him walking around with a box of diapers looking a baby girls dresses! it was so cute.

Have you seen any great movies lately?
